“Outside of F3A, I enjoy flying Giant Scale IMAC models where I compete in the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout where I have won in 2011 and 2015, recently placing 2nd in 2022. Besides flying models, I enjoy playing Hockey in a league as well as working on muscle cars and plan to start building a new kit car very soon!”

Pete Collinson

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, 40-year-old Pete Collinson is an Airbus A330 airline pilot. His father introduced him to the world of radio-controlled flying when he was 11 years old. Two years later, Pete was competing in the Sportsman class of Pattern. By age 16, he was a 3-time National Champion winning each AMA Pattern class in consecutive years (1998-2000).

After his early success in Pattern, Pete’s focus shifted to his career of becoming a commercial airline pilot. Although his full attention was not on F3A, his passion for Pattern flying still led him to compete in 23 consecutive NATS (1998-2020).

Recently, Pete has had the privilege of dedicating more time to competing at a high level in F3A. He looks forward to the opportunity of representing Team USA at the 2025 World Championships in Muncie, Indiana!

Wesley Anderson

At 18 years old, I’ve been flying Pattern for just over a year and absolutely love the precision and challenge it brings. Before that, I spent three years flying IMAC, earning the Southeast Regional Championship titles in both 2022 and 2023. My passion for flight started early—really early. I flew my first solo at just 3 years old, and radio-controlled aviation has been a huge part of my life ever since.

My dad, Scott Anderson, has been my caller and biggest supporter since the beginning. He introduced me to the hobby, and we’ve traveled all across the Southeastern U.S. together chasing competitions and good times.

2024 was a milestone year—my first trip to the NATS in Muncie, Indiana, and my first time competing in the U.S. F3A Team Trials. I never imagined I’d get the chance to fly at this level, and it’s been an incredible journey so far.

When I’m not flying, you’ll probably find me working on cars—another hands-on passion that keeps me learning and tinkering.
